An exploration of technological addiction rendered physical.
I jailbroke my iPhone and used MobileSubstrate to override a few
unlockWithSound: methods inside Springboard. These fire off a network request to the laptop seen above every time I unlocked my phone. The laptop has a little python server that, upon receiving a request from my phone, sends a signal to an attached Arduino. The Arduino fires the solenoid valve, causing a single drip of water to fall onto the sugar cubes. A few weeks later and what started as a 8×8×12 stack of sugar cubes was mostly a pile on the floor and a little syrup.
